Our dutch feasts
Our dutch feasts
We are big eaters and the ones who follow us know it!
So we have some (unordinary) suggestions about what to eat in Amsterdam.
Some advices: we are not fussy, we love vegatables but we don’t eat only them
(poor potatoes!!) and nothing stops us.
2. The original Van Dobben
Going in Amsterdam without eating fried food is more difficult then go there without seeing bicycles.
This enormous croquette with mushrooms cream inside (or herbs cream? We really don’t know it..) worths all the cholesterol.
If you want to try the original Van Dobben you can find it in the Waterlooplein flea market. There is a fantastic kiosk that sells it inside a sandwich.
When you’ll try it, you’ll understand the reason why I’m drooling 😀
2. Frens Haringhandel
I don’t know if there are other places in the world where you can eat fresh herrings in a sandwich, or kibellings in a little cup fish-shaped with sauce in the tail.
Maybe in a lot of places, maybe nowhere.
We found this wonderful kiosk in the end of the Flower Market and we felt in love with the couple inside it.
The picture of us sitting onn the river tasting these new, so strong, tastes is one of the best one of this weekend that we have in our mind.
3. All you can eat
Close to the Bulldog of Leidseplein and very near to the Van Gogh Museum we found a place where you can eat good things and pay a little.
Pork ribs with no limits for us!
If you pay attention at the photos…you’ll understand that we absolutely didn’t like it…
We loved to eat in Amsterdam but we loved this city also for:
– Amsterdam Evergreens
– What’s nearby?
If you need help to plan your holiday we can help you here!
