Medjugorje on our motorbike
Medjugorje: between sacred and profane
We reached Medjugorje during our tour through Balkans, and this was our first stop from Dubrovnik where our ferry from Italy left us.
For every bosniac stop we have to say thank you to some persons, for this one: thanks to the man who stopped us only to know where we were going and to give us suggestions for the parking in Monstar. Thank you with all our hearts!
All our photos of Medjugorje are here: photos album
Just arrived in Dubrovnik we leave for Medjugorje and get lost in crazy roads (navigator’s tricks NEVER miss!), here is only one example: navigator’s trick
In our opinion the church has nothing special (it’s like all churches in places with a lot of turism)…neither the street full of shops and souvenir has something special…
But once reached the base of the hill something changes…
Everyone lives in a different way this little climb…someone makes it without shoes and some others make it knelt on their knees…we..simply make it silently.
Once reached the top we lived that moment in two completely differents ways but we can talk about this sitted down at the table, not here, so if you want to know more…SELFinvite yourself in our ous for dinner!!!
Our suggestion: if you arrive at the time of lunch stop and eat 1 km before Medjugorje…it will be enough in order to eat a complete meal with about 5 euros per person (a very BIG one!!!).
Otherwise you’ll find, obviously, superturistic prices very such as european prices….
